Lori Romano, Ph.D.
Dr. Lori Romano was appointed as Superintendent of Hernando County Public Schools on July 1, 2013. Prior to serving as Superintendent in Hernando County, Dr. Romano served as the Director of Adult, Community, Secondary and Virtual Education with the Martin County School District in Stuart, Florida. During her tenure in Martin County as the Director of Adult, Community, Secondary and Virtual Education, the Martin County School District and the District’s graduation rate was the second highest in the state; and all secondary schools under her direction received an “A” grade under Florida’s accountability system in 2011-2012. She was also instrumental in improving the dropout rate and increasing student participation in advanced coursework.
Dr. Romano received her Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in Special Education and Educational Leadership, a M.S. in Educational Counseling from Auburn University, and a B.S. in Elementary Education/Special Education from Troy State University.
